WTF? Pit Bull Sodomy!

Lockport Police received a 911 call from a frantic City of Lockport mother Sunday afternoon.

The mother told Lockport Police that she left her two year old unattended for a short time and after hearing the baby scream, she ran to see what was wrong.

When she got in the room, she told Lockport Police the dog, named "Bear" had sodomized the toddler. The mother screamed, scaring the dog out of the house, but the dog was still attached to the baby. One neighbor told 2 On Your Side, she heard the mother screaming "the dog is raping my baby." Neighbors ran to help, but only one man was able to get the dog and child apart.Anastacio Castillo says "I tried to get the dog away from the baby, the dog was already inside the baby."

When the baby was finally free, he was visibly sick. Castillo says the boy was vomiting and bleeding. The baby was rushed to Women and Children's Hospital where the toddler underwent reconstructive surgery.

The dog is being held at the Niagara County SPCA for evalution. An animal behavior specialist is scheduled to evaluate the pitbull on Friday. Since the attack, over 20 people have called the SPCA asking to adopt the pitbull. The Niagara County District Attorney's office is assisting Lockport Police with the investigation.Miranda Workman, behavior specialist at Purrfect Paws in Amherst says, "Most likely this is not a learned behavior. Dogs in tact, not spayed or neutered have a higher hormonal drive."She urges parents to never, ever leave their children alone with a dog.

Ok, that was one of the most disgusting things I have ever read, in my life. And I am not lying.

I am a pet owner (cats), and I would never, EVER leave my cats alone with my baby (if I ever have one). They’re animals and they operate instinctually, and that is not always in the best interests of the humans around them.

Neutering and spaying are essential to the health and happiness of pets and their owners!

But what I don’t understand is how did the dog get access to the child’s rectum if the child was clothed? And how long did the mother leave them unattended?? It doesn’t sound like the mothers completely telling the truth.

I do hope that the boy has a full recovery and that the dog doesn’t get put down. But he does need to be in a child free home!

Wow, I thought my dog was a little perverted when she sniffs all around me while I'm in the bathroom. I agree with Lola - who leaves a toddler alone with a pet? I think the parent should be questioned a LOT more.

I'm reading your blog backwards. I commented on most up until I saw you have PCOS. I have it too. Please stop by these blogs.

That story was disturbing... But you gotta ask yourself who leaves their baby alone with a huge dog like that or any pet unless it's caged?

All animals treat other animals like animals, they don't know the difference. We already know dogs hump everything like people's legs, pillows, etc. So I ask again, Why in the world would you leave your baby unattended!!!!????

I hope the child will be ok....it's just sad the child has to suffer for the mother's mistake.

A lot of people want to give the dog the death penalty and treat him like he's a person, but he's not. Most parents don't leave their babies unattended with other children much less animals.

If a 6 year old child was playing with toys with his 2 year old brother and happened to lodge a toy somewhere that would harm the child (in his eye, in his mouth, or any other place) would the 6 year old be put to sleep?

We, as people, need to start taking more responsibility for our actions.

Sorry to rant about this one....

I feel the brunt of the responsibility is with the parents. I do not understand why the child was left alone and naked with an animal known for its viciousness. I have a Rottweiler mix that I would not leave alone with children for any reason. She is sweet with me but is very capable of hurting a child. I think the dog should be neutered and not given away to breeders or some of the questionable people inquiring about him. He should be given to a good home with references checked and without children.

When I heard this story from Cluizel last week, I almost tossed my cookies thinking about it & it worse because I am a very visual person.

I hope the child will come out of this OK! It is so sad to see & hear about cases like this or similar because this could have easily been prevented!

As for the people wanting to adopt him, I think my prejudices are getting the best of me because I Am thinking only a pervert would want the dog to freak with but on the other hand I imagine that there are some concerned people out there who just d not want to see the dog unjustly punished.

BTW, Meikmeika: you are on point!
